Project: Inception is a GO!

Hello everyone!!! This is the first post of the New Year (Happy New Years everyone!) so i hope you enjoy.

I'm not a big fan of New years resolutions because i think of it as some stupid tradition that everyone does and I find it pointless deciding to do something new, life changing or whatever because of some arbitrary date on a calender; and I know "New Year" celebration is supposed to be in accordance with the winter solstice celebration or whatever but unless we as a society actually begin paying real attention to the earth, it's cycles and well being then its just a meaningless celebration and excuse to party and get drunk (Which is why i do it). Unfortunately I ended up on the resolution bandwagon; which i guess makes me a hypocrite, to which i don't give a rat's ass cause I'll still sleep at night.

My resolution for this month is to have Lucid Dreams. Even though my ultimate goal is to have Out of Body Experiences I think Lucid dreaming will be a good starting point and it will give me the opportunity to explore my own consciousness (and maybe my conscience, if i can find it).

The firs step is finding the appropriate literature, which in this case is Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming (1990) by Stephen LaBerge and Howard Rheingold. Very good book so far with interesting and well researched methods to get you started with attempting and successfully having Lucid dreams.

The first techniques involve remembering your dreams, keeping a dream journal and extracting dream signs from your journal which you can use while dreaming to eventually realize that you are dreaming. Pretty simple. Another technique is modifying your sleep pattern to create a sleep period that is more conducive to having Lucid dreams. This is the part that I'm at now since I have been keeping a dream journal for the past 2 months and it has been very interesting and rewarding.

I'll leave leave what happened on my first attempt for the next post and will be posting all the entries in my dream journal in subsequent posts. The reason for this is to force myself to go over the journal thereby improving my recollection of dreams (since starting the journal I've remembered dreams i have forgotten) and increasing my chances of awakening in my dreams.

I hope you all enjoy the ride through my mind :-)
